The Cider House is a large stone and half-timbered cottage, sleeping 10 people, in 5 bedrooms each with its own bathroom or shower room.
It is an ancient building, full of character, probably built in the 17th century. All rooms are heavily beamed with ancient timbers, many having interesting carpenter's marks and some which clearly came from an even older building. Now it has all the modern luxuries you would expect in a 5 Star cottage.
There are 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 shower rooms (all with power showers), a Lounge, Kitchen/Dining Room and a laundry. The Kitchen floor is tiled, the bedrooms and lounge are carpeted; the kitchen and dining are are tiled and the bathroom floors are wood-laminate. There is full oil-fired central heating throughout, a log fire and a mixture of oak and Victorian-style mahogany furniture.
Accessibility
The Cider House is suitable for a person with limited mobility (who is weight-bearing but unsteady on their feet, perhaps using a walking aid such as stick, zimmer or walking frame). All ground-floor accommodation except perhaps Bedroom 2 (see below) would be accessible to them with no steps or ramps.

Kitchen/Dining Room
The full-sized oak kitchen/dining room has oak cupboards, black granite worktops, an electric range cooker and tiled floor. It seats 10 people comfortably around a single oak refectory table (the photo shows 8 chairs, but there are actually 10). There is an integraldishwasher, fridge-freezer, second fridge and a microwave and a separate laundry with washing machine, tumble drier and drying rails for the use of Cider House guests only.
Lounge
The Lounge has 3 comfortable leather sofas and an armchair, 32 inch HD Ready LCD flat screen TV with integral Freeview, DVD/CD player and an Ipod Dock with integral FM radio. There is a wood burning stove.
5 Bedrooms and 5 Bathrooms
Bedroom 1 - Ground Floor Twin; ensuite Shower room - cubicle with power shower, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 2 - Ground floor (down 3 stairs, with handrail) Superking or optional Twin ; ensuite Shower room - cubicle with power shower, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 3 - First floor Twin; adjacent Shower room - cubicle with power shower, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 4 - First floor King - carved mahogany 4-Poster; ensuite Bathroom with power shower over the bath, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 5 - First floor King; ensuite Bathroom with power shower over the bath, toilet and washbasin.
A cot and highchair are available on request.
Outside
Private enclosed gardens, patio with pergola, raised, covered fishpond garden furniture, fixed barbecue, clothes drier and
5-seater HOT TUB, for the exclusive use of Cider House guests - (adults only). Sports towels are supplied.
